A high recumbent circle commanding awe inspiring views of the horizon, nestled between two equidistant hilltops, one of which bears a trig point. Stones not in bad nick considering the five thousand years of abuse the rest of the plant has suffered eh?

View looking South East from inside the former circle. Note the finely tooled flanker.

Recumbent (2 metres high) viewed from the South

Out of respect for the delicate angle of balance which this slim but tall recumbent now rests at, I decline to sit upon it and instead rest my writing pad on its level top (the inner of the circle is raised by about 60cm - this would be impossible from the South East side).

Seen from this angle one can appreciate the tenuous angle which this beautiful slab sits at.

The flanker and other stones

What an incredible horizon view this stone circle frames for us. But with all the eye can see, is this spot itself with these stones, these clouds above me, this grass, as holy as all those other spots? Or is the true magic of the stone circle that we can see MORE (like the work of a great artist) - ever fighting against the myopia of self-interest.

View South to the Correen hills

These things are important to the stone builders: Symmetry, Order, Strength, Dedication, Broad Mindedness.
